Audemars Piguet is reimagining how we buy watches, and their AP House concept in Manchester proves they’re serious about it. Housed in an 18th-century Georgian townhouse dating back to 1736—a building that predates the brand itself by 150 years—this space perfectly embodies the marriage of history and horology that defines the modern AP experience.

The journey begins at street level, where you’ll buzz in and state your intentions. First impressions matter, and AP House doesn’t disappoint. A stone reference in the entrance nods to the Vallée de Joux, where the brand’s Swiss manufacture calls home.

Look up and you’ll notice poplar leaves adorning the ceiling—a clever reference to Manchester’s industrial revolution, when these trees were planted by the millions to combat pollution, their vertical forms echoing the city’s forest of chimneys.

The watch room is the only space in the entire house where timepieces are displayed, making it essential viewing. The presentation is thoughtful, with watches arranged in honeycomb cells—another Manchester reference, this time to the worker bees that became the city’s symbol during its industrial heyday. Inside these cells, you’ll find everything from 2025 novelties to gem-set pieces and rare complications.

Upstairs, the dining area and bar showcase AP’s connection to contemporary art, with more poplar leaves—this time by artist Michelle McKinnie—gracing the ceiling. There’s even a hidden bee among them. The solid walnut table serves as the nucleus of the space, reflecting the hospitality that defines every AP House globally. The music room houses John Mayer’s PRS guitar and a wall of records, including Factory Records releases.

The AP House concept goes beyond the typical luxury watch shopping experience: it’s hospitality, storytelling, and experience wrapped into one multi-level journey, subtly tailored to each city they are housed in. They’re the new Audemars Piguet, and they’re worth experiencing first-hand.
