Bremont’s latest stealthy limited edition celebrates their continued collaboration with Martin-Baker
Andrew O'Connor- The Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Stealth Grey is a sleek yet luxe celebration of the brand’s partnership with ejection seat manufacturer Martin-Baker.
- It combines a matte sandblasted grade 2 titanium case with a grey surface treatment plus a meteorite-patterned dial with a seconds hand that recalls the pull tab on an ejection seat.
- It’s limited to 400 pieces and retails for A$10,000.
The last couple of years have been pretty monumental for Bremont, with the brand undergoing a major refresh in 2024 and releasing a swathe of new models in 2025 (including these very cool Terra Nova Jump Hour models). The British-founded brand shows no signs of slowing down with industry veteran Davide Cerrato at the helm, having found its feet again post-refresh.
Prior to the refresh, the Bremont MB (Martin-Baker) line would likely be deemed an icon of the brand’s catalogue. Martin-Baker is the largest manufacturer of ejection seats for military planes, producing 75% of the world’s aeronautical ejection seat technology. They have been a long-time collaborator with Bremont, producing the MBI exclusively for those who have had the misfortune of using a Martin-Baker seat and the good fortune to live to tell the tale.
Bremont’s knack for overbuilt tool watches with a British style has developed a cult following, producing many repeat customers. As covered previously here at Time+Tide, the MBII is now the Altitude MB Meteor as of April 2025, with the Meteor name coming from the test plane Martin-Baker uses to test their ejection seats. The Trip-Tick case design remains, but it’s now crafted in grade 2 titanium rather than stainless steel. Today’s Bremont release, however, adds an interesting surface treatment to the mix.
It’s called the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Stealth Grey, and it’s a 400-piece limited edition model that introduces a new take on the MB line. For this model, gone are all polished surfaces, and instead the outer grade 2 titanium case and bracelet are finished and coated in an ultra-matte grey treatment that absorbs light, removing reflective surfaces from the case and bracelet. The inner barrel of Bremont’s Trip-Tick case has also been PVD-coated black.
The 42mm case measures 49.3mm lug-to-lug, is 12.23mm thick, has 22mm lugs and weighs 53.29 grams (watch head only). It is rated to 100 meters of water resistance, and the titanium bracelet features a butterfly clasp plus quick-release spring bars to facilitate strap changes. The time and date adjustment is done utilising the crown at 2 o’clock, while the inner rotating bezel is adjusted via the crown at 4 o’clock. The inner bezel features Bremont’s Roto-Click technology, ensuring accurate setting of the bezel, providing tactile feedback while rotating the crown, similar to a traditional bezel.
The dial features a meteorite texture, achieved by scanning a slice of actual meteorite and then stamping that texture onto a brass plate. The dial plate is then electroplated to achieve the desired colour finish. Bremont focuses on this as a unique interpretation of a natural material, while ensuring the stability and durability of the dial. The dial indices are applied Arabic numerals filled with blue-emission Super-LumiNova. The yellow seconds hand features a counterbalance reminiscent of the pull tab on an ejection seat, and the date border recalls the “DANGER” label found on all ejection seats.
Inside the case is the BB14-AH automatic calibre, which is based on the increasingly-popular La Joux-Perret G100. It has 24 jewels, operates at 4hz, has a 68-hour power reserve, and has a custom-decorated Bremont rotor. The movement is shock-protected via a flexible rubber mount that suspends the movement within the case. Additionally, there is a soft-iron inner shield that protects the movement from magnetic fields. The open case back reveals a gunmetal grey-finished movement with Geneva stripes that complement the stealthy outer appearance of the watch.
Closing thoughts
The recent Bremont revamp has been a Marmite subject amongst the watch community. I do think what they’ve done with the MB line has been a positive step towards making Bremont a more mainstream brand. The reworked case does seem more wearable, as it is shrunk by 1mm in diameter, and the lugs seem to taper inward and curve downward more, helping with the visual and tactile size. Titanium makes the watch an order of magnitude lighter, making it much more comfortable, and emphasising the aviation focus of the Altitude MB Meteor line.
I think an actual meteorite dial would be appreciated at the price Bremont operates at, but it could also make the watch an order of magnitude more expensive. Indeed, Bremont’s focus on tool watch performance for this model may be hindered by a meteorite dial, as an organic material does not have the same durability as a man-made one. Overall, I think the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Stealth is a very “tacti-cool” version of the model that will appeal to aviation enthusiasts and actual pilots alike. It successfully maintains the brand’s identity while hopefully expanding its audience.
